December 19, 2020 Daily Devotion
Even though we have Jesus in our life, there are times when we still become weak and we give in to the temptation of the enemy. What wonderful news to know that even if we are faithless, the Lord remains faithful to us. Remember when Peter denied Jesus three times? Despite the faithless act of Peter, Jesus still remained faithful to Him for he cannot deny himself. Peter failed and did not stand up for Jesus yet what He did do not change what God has called Him to be. Jesus renamed him from Simon to Peter which means “rock” and He called him the fishers of men.
If Jesus is in us, we can be confident that Jesus is going to keep us safe until the end. Even though how far we want to run away from Him, He will remain faithful to draw us back to His arms and to restore us. He is a good shepherd who will leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until He finds it (Luke 15:4). Eventually, He will lead us back to full dependence, to repentance, to the confession of our sins, and to redemption so that we can walk with him by grace.
Thank you, Lord, for not giving up on me.
