December 30, 2020 Daily Devotion
There are times when external circumstances will shake our faith in God. Whenever we feel like disbelief is growing taller than our faith, let us not forget that God is not requiring us to have faith as big as a mountain but faith that is even as small as a mustard seed.
To believe that God is trustworthy and faithful is a decision to choose. God keeps His promises. He does is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He is the very opposite of man. God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind (Numbers 23:19). If we will trust God in every situation, big or small, He can produce in us the most spiritual fruits of the Spirit and steadfast character.
Whenever the enemy feeds us lies about who God is or to doubt God, we have to rebuke it. Entertaining thoughts that will question our faith will only give us the world’s perspective and not God’s. Instead of lingering on thoughts that will steal peace and joy from our hearts, we should read the word of God and meditate on His promises. The Bible is filled with more than seven thousand promises of God to mankind. With a profound assurance that God always keeps His Word, let us stand on the promises of God.
Lord, help us in our disbelief.
