It’s All About Love!

So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:13

Once again, the apostle Paul reminds the Corinthians to “strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts” (12:31). The greatest spiritual gift is love. “Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, love is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails” (13:4-8).

The love that never fails comes directly from God. It’s the love he has poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. This is an eternal love that leads us into the arms of Jesus. It’s a love that fills our cup and empowers us to love one another the way Jesus loves us.
