Do Good Because Of God’s Love and Grace

Is it possible to get tired of doing good? To answer that question, we must first consider what motivates us to do good.
If we do what benefits others to feel good about ourselves, please other people, build our identity, or gain God’s favor, we will eventually burn out. It is always necessary to check our hearts to see if self-interest motivates our good deeds. But if we do good because of God’s love and grace, we will always find rest and renewed strength in Him to continue serving others for the common good.
Doing good to others is an expression of God’s abundant love in us. We will not tire because we are working for the Lord. We do good things not to please God or earn His favor, but to bring joy to His heart as a result of what He has done for us. Knowing and believing that God loves us because of what Jesus has done will make doing good to others as natural as breathing. The Bible promises eternal life blessings as a result of “sowing” his life to the Spirit.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9 NIV
Wherever God placed us, He calls us to do good for His glory.
