  • The chakra connection entails the practitioner placing hands on the person seeking treatment, beginning with the feet and progressing to each joint in the body. This technique is intended to balance the energy in the chakras, which are the energy centers of the body.

  • Magnetic passes are slow hand movements made over the person receiving treatment’s body. The practitioner’s fingers brush over the energy field to help remove blockages, but no actual physical contact is made in this technique.

What to Expect in a Healing Touch Session

The Healing Touch session lasts 40 to 60 minutes. During a session, you will be fully clothed on a massage table while your practitioner places their hands on or just above your body in specific energy regions, palms down. Healing Touch practitioners connect you to the universal life force energy source. Through the practitioner’s hands, the energy is transferred to you.

In your Healing Touch session, it’s important to wear loose, comfortable clothing. Dress in layers in case you become too hot or cold during the session and remember that the practitioner may ask you to roll onto your stomach at some time, so belts and other bulky items should be removed.

During the session, the practitioner will lightly place his or her hands on or near your body in a variety of hand positions, including around the head and shoulders, stomach, and feet, as well as additional places based on the client’s needs. Depending on how much time the client needs in each position, each hand position is kept for 3 to 10 minutes.

During the treatment, you should expect to feel deeply relaxed. You’ll probably daydream, and you might even fall asleep.
