Ezekiel 18:23 Daily Devotion - February 22 2023

He Desires We Enjoy His Fullness

Today’s Daily Devotion

By Khai Samante

After years and years of Israel’s rebellion, God called Ezekiel to pronounce judgement on his rebellious people. The consequences of their sin and rebellion were famine, pestilence, captivity, and death by sword. Instead of turning away from their sins, Israel saw God as unjust. God declared, “Do I take pleasure in the death of the wicked (v. 23)?”

God does not take pleasure in seeing us suffer the consequences of our sin and disobedience. When we turn away from Him to pursue our fleshly desires, He is heartbroken and grieved. God is pleased when we repent of our sins and choose to have an intimate relationship with Him. He does not want us to continue sinning and destroying ourselves. Rather, He desires we enjoy His fullness.

Despite our wickedness, God remains faithful. He always offers hope and promise of salvation. He wants us to enjoy eternity with Him.

Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
Ezekiel 18:23 NIV

Are you ready to enjoy the fullness of God?
