How Blessed I Am to Call Him a Brother
Today’s Daily Devotion

By Dr. George Ceremuga
Today is my brother’s birthday. How blessed I am to call him a brother as well as a brother in Christ! At a recent mass, Fr. Ed talked about how Jesus sent out the disciples as well as the seventy-two and amongst them were brothers, James and John and Peter and Andrew. Well, brother Tomas, there is Tomas and George. Indeed, ambassadors, brothers, and soldiers for Christ. There is no greater honor. We are reminded “for whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
The apostle Paul gives us the roadmap on how we should always greet one another. I will paraphrase the apostle Paul (2 Timothy 1:1-3) to offer this greeting to my brother on his birthday. George, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God for the promise of life in Christ Jesus, to Tomas, my dear brother; grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord be with you always.
For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.
Matthew 12:50
Indeed, soldiers for Christ!
