The Grace God Extends To Us

We now know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong, because of our God-given conscience. We can tell what is sinful and what is not. Everything got worse when God gave Moses the law. The actual commands about what to do and what not to do in this life transformed us from being sinners by nature to actual lawbreakers of God’s standard of holiness. The existence of God’s commands elevated our sin to a new level of lawbreaking. As a result, sin increased.

But did you know that as human sin increased, so did grace “super-increase”? Yes, God’s grace was even more abundant. Our own sinfulness can not overcome God’s grace. The more we sin, the more grace God extends to us. The more we recognize our sin, the more we realize how desperately we need forgiveness, salvation, and reconciliation with God. God’s grace could abound towards us as sin increased, and we became more aware of our sinfulness.

Let’s face the new year anchoring our hope in God’s love, faithfulness, and abundant mercy towards us. Allow God to continue to change our hearts.
