Do you depend on God 100% at all times? I only have few days left before the day of moving out from my parents’ house and start living independently with my eight-year-old daughter. There are a lot of things going on in my mind such as packing our stuff, how to move while we are in a community quarantine, who will help me in transferring our belongings, what appliances to buy, what food to cook on our first night at the apartment and many more. MANY.
While reading the portion about “Moving into Love” from the book Moving Forward by John Siebeling, the Holy Spirit revealed to me what I have been doing lately and what I should do instead. The past weeks, my emotions have been filled with fear, and my excitement was able to cover that up very well. I keep on trying to make sure I will be in control of everything by planning my moving out anxiously, checking my budget from time to time, and looking for ways and resources on how to make sure everything will go smoothly. There’s nothing wrong with planning. What’s wrong is my being self-dependent and not giving any space for God to move at all because of my fear of failing.
Quoted in the book I am reading, “If we’re in fear, we are not in a place of love. When we’re in a place of love, we cannot be in a place of fear.” – Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. I praise God, for He is the light to my path. He replaces my worries and fears with the comfort of His love. He does not pick and choose when or where He will comfort us. God permits even the trials and affliction to occur for a lot of reasons, one of the main reasons is for us to be dependent on Him.
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness. My God, that is who you are.
– Way Maker, The McClures
