From Fear To Faith
Today's Daily Devotion - June 30, 2022
By Khai Samante
Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 41:14
I thought I was no longer a worrier. I thought I was conscious whenever I had fears. While my colleague and friend, Ayn, and I went on a 5-day retreat last June, the resort’s owner told me I have a lot of worries. At first, I didn’t want to believe what she said. But as I reflected on what transpired on our first day, I noticed traces of fear and worry. If I do not become more mindful of my thoughts, the enemy will continue to get a stronghold in my life through those minor fears and worries.
As we continue to seek God, we can move from fear to faith. First, we must recognize our need for God and humble ourselves. We implore God to reveal to us the worries and fears that remain in our hearts and minds. We approach His throne of grace with confidence because we know we can find mercy and grace there to support us when we’re in need. In prayer, we ask for the courage to face our concerns.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
Dear God, thank you for the blessings and power of prayer.
