Fullest Extent of Love

Moses recalls Israel’s unbelievers’ rejection of the Promised Land, despite his pleas for them to take the land on faith because of their rebellion. God has done nothing but show His faithfulness to Israel. Their voyage had been difficult, but there was never a day that God hid his presence from them. Despite God carrying them throughout the journey like a father holds his son, going ahead of them on fire by night and in a cloud by day, searching for places to camp, and showing them the direction they should go, they are still not convinced of God’s love. Even so, they struggled to put their faith in God. Despite God’s faithfulness, they rebelled, grumbled, and refused to believe. They struggled to put their faith in a God who they didn’t believe loved them.

God loves you. Do you believe this?. Do you know that even though we do not know God, He loved us from the beginning? Perhaps our lack of faith stems from the fact that we still need to be convinced of God’s love. Despite the fact that we are undeserving of His love, He yet rises the sun for us, goes before us, and fights for us. Romans 5:8 says, but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God has already demonstrated His love to the fullest extent possible⁠—through Jesus Christ. What we can do now is to simply receive God’s love.
