God is Omnipresent

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

Psalm 139:7,8

If you would be given a superpower, what kind and why? As a mom, maybe one would be the power to be omnipresent so I can do the laundry, cooking, homeschooling, working, and sleeping at the same time. Or maybe a power to teleport, to be present in different places or events in a snap. Our God is more than any superhero. He is present here with me in the Philippines and also present wherever part of the world you are at the same time. May the truth about the omnipresent attribute of God be an encouragement to us today.

When the Psalmist wrote, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? (v. 7,8),” he is acknowledging that there is no way he can escape the knowledge of God. There is no place in the universe that God will not be present to guide and carry those who believes in Him. Even in the darkest places where it seems like God is not there, God is also there. This truth gives us peace and assurance that wherever we are, whatever season of life we may be, God is with us and He will never leave us. Because our God is omnipresent, we will never be alone. Jesus promised that as we do our calling in making disciples, He will be with us to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:18-20). Romans 8:9 also says the Holy Spirit of God lives in everyone who is a true Christian.

Fear not, for God is with you. Share the good news and be an encouragement to those who feel alone. Remind them that God is with them!

You are not alone. God is with you!
