“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” - 2 Peter 3:8-9

Read 2 Peter 3:8-13

How long have we been in quarantine and isolation? I’ve lost the number of days and would rather not care so much on how long have we been in this situation. I’ve learned that it is possible to change our perspective, focusing more on the opportunities of living by faith and not magnifying the hardships of life.

Our scripture in 2 Peter says with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. We have prayers that we seem are taking too long to be answered. Others, we have even forgotten already that we used to pray about it. We have been asking God for healing and yet remain unanswered. We have been praying for breakthroughs yet what we have is still a long list of debts to pay.

I hope you will be encouraged by the truth that God is good and He desires to bless you and not to harm you. While we are still in our “waiting” season, let us not fix our eyes on what we don’t have yet or what is unanswered yet. Let us fix our eyes on God alone. His day is different from ours. If God delays, there is a reason why He delayed it for now. Sometimes it might not be about asking God to answer our prayers. We may be the ones who should change our attitude in asking our petitions to God.

God is a patient God.
