God with Us

In John Donne’s poem, he wrote “No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main…” We are born for relationships. Our life as an individual does not exist alone. Our life is like a piece of huge puzzle.

Jesus means “God with us.” This is a fitting way for Jesus to complete his charge to the disciples, as well as Matthew’s Gospel. Jesus promised them with a very astonishing claim, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” His promise is not only applicable in a certain season of our life. It is true in every season, every circumstance, every moment.

Whenever you feel alone or you feel like there’s no one you can count on, remember this promise. Jesus is with you. Whenever you feel you are fighting your battles alone or carrying a heavy burden alone, stand tall and boldly declare that Jesus is with you. God knows life will not be perfect and always smooth sailing. We need Jesus!
