Happy Valentine's Day!​

God formed out of the ground many animals and birds of the air for the man to name, yet none proved to be a suitable partner for the man. Our God then cast a deep sleep on the man and took out one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. God brought her to the man. The man said, “This one, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one shall be called ‘woman.’ (V21-23).

God made woman to be man’s helpmate- an equal partner to walk by his side. This poem by Mathew Henry says it all: “Eve was not taken out of Adam’s head to top him, neither out of his feet to be trampled on by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected by him, and near his heart to be loved by him.”
