Making Surrender A Daily Practice
Today's Daily Devotion - June 26, 2021
By Dr. George J. Ceremuga
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength & my song, and he has become my salvation. - Isaiah 12:2
Practice makes perfect. Surrender is tough work. It takes discipline to do the next right thing. Inhale Love and Exhale Gratitude as we focus on Jesus Christ. The dividends are huge- peace in the presence of our God. It is important to make a prayer of surrender each day. The below prayer of abandonment (surrender) may be that spark that allows us to say, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.”
Prayer of Abandonment by Charles de Foucauld
Father,
I abandon myself into your hands; do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you: I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me, and in all your creatures-
I wish no more than this, O Lord. Into your hands I commended my soul:
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart, for I love you, Lord,
And so need to give myself, to surrender myself into your hands without reserve,
And with boundless confidence, for you are my Father. Amen
Practice makes perfect.
