New Identity - Daily Devotion

And so you are no longer called outcasts and wanderers, but citizens with God’s People. - Ephesians 2:19

Read Ephesians 2:11-19

In Christ, we are no longer strangers and aliens. Strangers were foreigners with no rights and privileges and aliens were non-citizens who lived in the city and were only given privileges as neighbors. As citizens of God, we now have full rights to His Kingdom. We are now under another authority that is not from earth. In the kingdom of God, you have the protection of a King. His power is made available for us, the same power God used to resurrect Jesus Christ. And God invites us, whenever we need it, to call upon Him for that form of resource.

Aside from becoming citizens of God’s people, we are also a member of God’s household. As a member of God’s own intimate family, we are now called the princes and princesses. This means we now have access to the King, our Father. We can always come to Him and we are His heirs. What a privilege it is to become the child of God!

We can confidently come to God and ask for big things because we are no longer foreigners and strangers. Come to God today and enjoy the fullness of God’s provision to your life!

Thank you, Lord, for calling me your own!
