Remember Your Creator

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them” — Ecclesiastes 12:1
I came to know Christ in my twenties. I used to wonder, “What if I had met Christ earlier?” Whether we came to know Christ as a Savior in our teens, after marriage, or in our fifties, we must always remember Him.
Remembering God does not imply thinking about Him “sometimes.” It involves putting God at the center of our lives—walking with Him, talking to Him, and getting to know Him better. Ecclesiastes 12 was written by Solomon, who was already in his advanced years, in the hopes that the young readers will decide to know God. This is a call to young people to serve the Lord now, while they are still young. There is more to life than meets the eye, and we may find genuine pleasure only in God. These pleasures are simply some good seasoning for a life that finds its purpose in eternity and the eternal God, rather than something to attempt and find meaning in. In order to assure our eternal security and to be led and protected throughout our lives by His Word and the Holy Spirit, it is crucial to choose and submit to God as early in life as possible.
Lord, teach me to remember You.
