The trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. - 1 Corinthians 15:52

Read 1 Corinthians 15:51-58

Our assigned scripture today looks like a part of a fiction novel. It tells something about the dead being up and out of their graves, beyond the reach of death, never to die again. What you have read from 1 Corinthians 15 is not a zombie apocalypse kind of story. It is a picture of the resurrection. Resurrection life is bodily life.

In scripture, it is said that the trumpet blast of God would wake the dead at the end of time. The graves will open and the soul and body of God’s people will rise to meet their Lord. God values our bodies. We too give importance to our bodies. Because of the Coronavirus outbreak, most have been more concerned about their health. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit so one of our main goals is to live fully alive in mind, body, and spirit because one day when we leave this earth, the resurrection of Christ puts back that which God never intended to be divided.

Verse 57 of the MSG version assured us with a beautiful truth: It was sin that made death so frightening and law-code guilt that gave sin its leverage, its destructive power. But now in a single victorious stroke of Life, all three—sin, guilt, death—are gone, the gift of our Master, Jesus Christ. Thank God!

Lord, thank you for the gift of salvation!
