The One Who is Faithful

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of the many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”

Romans 4:18 NIV

Read Romans 4:18-25

“In hope, believed…”

“Without weakening in his faith…”

“He did not waver through unbelief…”

“Strengthened in His faith…”

Fully persuaded…”

These are immensely powerful phrases that described the faith of Abraham. God gave Him a promise that he will be the father of all nations. The fulfillment of that promise did not come in an instant. There are even times when he tried to manufacture the promise of God by making his own way through Ishmael.

Abraham is not a perfect man. During those times in his life when his faith weakened, God remained faithful. Even though we are faithless, God will never stop being faithful to His promise to us. Abraham did not waver through unbelief, despite the old age of his body and Sarah’s. In what situation are you right now? What does your faith tell you based on what is visible in your circumstance right now? Despite the impossibilities, your faith in God can still strengthen you.

Who do you think God is? Our faith in Him is rooted on the level of trust we have in Him. Our level of trust in Him is based on our relationship in Him.  In a relationship, love is the motivation and trust is the foundation. We will find it difficult to trust God’s promises if we do not know him personally and we do not have a relationship with Him. You will never be fully persuaded that God “can” (link to God can product) if you do not know have a deep relationship with God.

Be ready for God, for He is faithful!
