Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree... - 1 Peter 2:24
Read 1 Peter 2:13-25
We face daily life struggles. Paul says in the book of Romans, “For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing (Romans 7:18-19 NIV).” There is an ongoing conflict within us that requires endless decisions to make each day.
A warfare is also raging in the spiritual realm. The weapons we fight, according to Paul, are not the weapons of the world. That is why we should be alert and of sober mind. It is difficult for us not to respond according to our sinful human nature, otherwise we are born again. The power of Christ changes us. By His wounds, we have been healed. Therefore, the death of Jesus should lead to profound change in our lives as believers. We now have the power to break all strongholds of evil and devote ourselves to live in righteousness.
Resist and stand firm in faith.
