They will know that we are Christians...

They will know we are Christians by our love, by our love, yes, they will know that we are Christians by our love. I fondly remember singing this song as a child and into adulthood. It is a powerful reminder that we are all one in Christ Jesus. History is full senseless death and suffering in the name of religion. I was so excited to see that September 24-26, 2021, the Rapid City ecumenical faith community is sponsoring the Black Hills Paha Sapa Celebration featuring Will Graham, the grandson of world renown, Billy Graham.

This made the front cover of our monthly Catholic newspaper. My heart is overjoyed to see our faith community coming together to bring the Good News of salvation to all. The Native American community is well represented, and one member said, “We need to employ a no regret strategy. We are trying to knock down the barriers of being the church. I want to know my voice is being heard as part of the body of Christ and the church.” Leading up to this event, a stream of activities including prayer rallies, workshops, and community gatherings will take place. I cannot wait! Neither can Jesus!
