Your Word is Our Light​

Read Proverbs 4:18-19

Nowadays, we have ready flashlights on our mobile devices in case there’s lack of light or whenever we are walking on a dark path. Back then, their only source of light when sojourning in the dark is a lamp.

The psalmist illustrates the Word of God with a lamp and a light. The image of light represents God’s guidance. Our fallen world is filled with traps and dark areas. The enemy is always around the corner to steal, kill, and destroy. Whenever we are confused about what is right or wrong or about what is honorable to God or not, we can always go back to the Word—the truth. God gave us His Word to bring light to our path and lead us away from every shadowy danger that will cross our path. He makes the right path clear for the faithful.
