Accept, Condone, Celebrate

A good friend and I spent some time together recently and enjoyed a discussion on accept, condone, and celebrate. We both accepted that we are all made in the image of Jesus and equally loved unconditionally by God. In essence, Christian or non-Christian, this is our common ground. Although we may accept and acknowledge each other’s viewpoint, we are not obligated to condone this (e.g. euthanasia). For when we condone, we now acknowledge the common good. In the eyes of many, there is no common good in assisted suicide.

Lastly when we acknowledge the common good (sanctity of life) we then celebrate the common GOD. The one and only GOD! Yes, acceptance acknowledges that we are all equal in the eyes of God and is our common ground. When we condone, we take this one step further and are working for the common good, and this eventually leads to us to celebrate the common GOD. The one and only GOD!
