You will receive power when the Holy Spirt comes down on you; then you are to be my witness to the ends of the earth. - Acts 1:8
After a recent walk with my neighbor, I offered him a blessing and prayer of healing for his upcoming elective surgery. He accepted graciously. As I was finishing the prayer, a gust of wind suddenly appeared as the Holy Spirit was giving His final acknowledgment and approval. Wow, we both, felt the power of the Holy Spirit’s presence and gave thanks and praise for this signal of grace. What is Holy Spirit power?
The power of the Holy Spirit is the power of God. The Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, has appeared throughout Scripture as a Being through and by whom great works of power are made manifest. His power was first seen in the act of creation, for it was by His power the world came into being (Genesis 1:1-2; Job 26:13).
The Holy Spirit is God’s power in action, his active force. (Micah 3:8; Luke 1: 35) God sends out his spirit by projecting his energy to any place to accomplish his will. — Psalm 104:30; 139:7. Let us claim our God-given Holy Spirit power as Paul writes, “So may God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that through the power of the Holy Spirit you may have hope in abundance (Romans 15:13).
The Holy Spirit is God’s power in action!
