God Is Our Safe Place

Read Psalm 62

Where is your safe place amid chaos? In some places where there are usually extreme weathers and tornadoes, residents build shelter locations like underground tornado bunkers—their refuge. A refuge is a safe location to flee to when things get out of hand—a haven during the storm. The psalmist says we can trust in God at all times and pour out our hearts to Him because He is our refuge. He is a powerful, reliable, and constant God. When life throws us curveballs, we typically rely on our resources and abilities to address our difficulties. We occasionally turn to God as a last option. Instead of turning to things or other people for security and safety, we can turn to God. He will never fail us.

Let us desire to know more about God’s character and build a deep and personal relationship with Him. God is our safe place. In Him, our soul can find rest. God is our rock and our salvation, not our bank accounts, fame, or possessions. We shall never be shaken if we make God our only fortress. Nothing in this world can keep us from safely entering His embrace.
