Eternal Encouragement and Good Hope

Read 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17

People all across the world are taking their own lives as a result of their lack of hope, dread, and suffering. People take a variety of drugs to help them cope with their mental and physical pain, but the relief is only temporary.

The truth is, we are all wounded and broken. But the good news is, God is with us. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). God is a God of grace and love. He strengthens us, gives us eternal encouragement, good hope, and the power we’ll need to get through the difficult times ahead. Our hope, as Christians, is not in this world, but in eternity.

Psalm 18:2 says, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” God is providing us the power we need to do what needs to be done, to do the good works He has called every believer to do, to conquer sin and be His witness in this world, and to see beyond the world’s temporary and unpleasant trials.
